HighWater has established new water supplies for many large campsites and chalet parks across the country. We have also upgraded existing infrastructure, including installing water treatment equipment, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Case Studies
Camping and Caravanning Club - Glenmore
Glenmore Campsite is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms near Aviemore. In summer, there can be many hundreds of guests. HighWater was contracted to upgrade the water supply to the campsite in 2004. A borehole water well was successfully established and integrated into the existing infrastructure. A Shakesby and Sons back-washing/regenerating manganese greensand filter for manganese reduction was installed to ensure that the concentrations of manganese in the treated water were compliant. A proportional chlorine dosing system was installed to ensure that the supply is bacteriologically safe to drink. HighWater has continued to provide the ongoing servicing and breakdown cover for the campsite since the new supply was first established.

We have always been very happy with the proactive approach from Highwater Scotland and how quickly they respond if we experience any issues on site. I would be very happy to recommend their services and appreciate their support to find a quick resolution. Thank you and keep up the good work
Forest Holidays - Callander
Forest Holidays’ Strathyre chalet site is nestled on the shore of Loch Lubnaig near Callander in the heart of Scotland. In 2015, HighWater was engaged to review the options for upgrading the water supply infrastructure as part of a wider project being undertaken by Forest Holidays to upgrade the site’s facilities. One of HighWater’s primary recommendations was to replace the existing surface water source with a borehole source, since reliably compliant water quality is of paramount importance. HighWater was subsequently contracted to drill the borehole and install the appropriate filtration equipment to ensure regulatory compliance of the supply. HighWater continues to provide servicing and breakdown cover support to Forest Holidays.
Camping and Caravanning Club – Glencoe Campsite
The Glencoe Campsite shares the same private water supply as the National Trust for Scotland’s Glencoe Visitor Centre. The private water supply used to be sourced from a stream but due to water quality and reliability issues the NTS tendered a contract in 2010 for installing a borehole water well to replace the surface water source. HighWater was awarded the contract and successfully established a new borehole supply which was integrated into the existing storage and distribution infrastructure. Subsequently HighWater were also engaged to design and install water treatment systems for effecting bacterial sterilisation of the supplies to both the NTS Visitor Centre and the Glencoe Campsite. In each case HighWater constructed new water treatment sheds to house appropriately-rated sediment pre-filters and ultraviolet sterilisers. HighWater provides ongoing support to the NTS and Camping and Caravanning Club with maintaining the water supply infrastructure.
